Knights Raise Rally Flag, Beat Brooklyn, 8-4
|
Spirited fans at Ebbetts Field greeted the Brooklyn Dodgers for their clash with the Kingston Township Knights.
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Ed Mellor, the Kingston Township Knights defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers, 8-4. Mellor was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Knights. The Knights now have a record of 26-40 with the win over Brooklyn.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Ruben Yim hit a 2-1 fastball from Cliff Claven for a 2-run home run. It put Kingston Township in front, 5-3.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Rayzor Ray said.
