Les Bleus Squelch Cattlemen Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Quebec City Les Bleus beat the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 5-0, at The Cattle Pen. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Denis Higgins, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Quebec City reliever Ryan Peterson picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Robbie Baxter was saddled with the loss. The Les Bleus have an impressive 44-20 record.
The Les Bleus picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Higgins, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
