Dodgers Score Late, Top Oaks, 3-2
|
The Dodgers had to overcome a fine performance from Oakland pitcher Kevin Nogilny to grab a 3-2 win at Oakland Coliseum. Nogilny allowed 2 earned runs over 6 innings. Brooklyn reliever Luis Bejarano picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Augusto Vélez took the loss. Cliff Claven earned the save for Brooklyn, his 2nd of the year.
Brooklyn used the bat of Félix Medina to get the win. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
Brooklyn currently is in 9th place in the Third League at 26-35.
