Portland pitcher Jorge Otero gave the Bowties all they could handle, but in the end, Buckhead left 5 Paces Park with a 5-4 win. Otero allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings. Buckhead occupies third place in the Premier League at 37-25.
Late in the game, designated hitter Shunso Kiyomizu had a big at-bat for Buckhead. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Keith Rojas. The play gave the Bowties a 5-4 lead.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Kiyomizu.
