Shredders Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Knights
|
The Hollywood Shredders got a good effort from starter Daniel Lavalley in defeating the Kingston Township Knights at Cloverdale Legion Park. The final score was 4-2. Lavalley, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 5, and allowing 2 earned runs. WyDale Curry got credit for the save for Hollywood. It was his 10th of the year.
The result might have been different for Hollywood, had it not been for Jurg Ursin. The left fielder produced a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put the Shredders ahead, 4-2. For the game, Ursin had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Ursin said.
Hollywood, at 19-19, occupies 6th place in the Third League.
