Lake Monsters Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-1 at Port Royal
A nice crowd turned out to see the Vermont Lake Monsters and Port Royal Disaster clash at Ballpark of Port Royal.

Vermont right-hander Naozane Kobayashi made an effective start against the Port Royal Disaster at Ballpark of Port Royal, leading his team to a 5-1 win. Kobayashi went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-4.

The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from pinch hitter José Vázquez. For the game, Vázquez went 1-2 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 10th double of the season gave Vermont a 3-1 lead.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Lake Monsters manager Coy Knight, "I like our chances."
