Evergreens Get Close Win Over Gold Sox
|
The Portland Evergreens did just enough to sneak past the Chicago Gold Sox, 4-3, at Evergreen Park. Portland shortstop Yu-shu Tseng earned player of the game honors. The winner was Portland reliever Raúl Romero, now 7-3. The loser was Austin Aries. The first-place Evergreens have a one-game lead in their division.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Tseng hit a splitter from Austin Aries for a solo home run. The Evergreens, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Both teams played hard," said Portland manager Dummy Manager.
