The Port Royal Disaster dealt the Jersey City Tritons a 8-4 loss at Ballpark of Port Royal. Ryan Faulkner was the star on offense. He went 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Fernando Varela went 8 innings for Port Royal to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 4 earned runs. He scattered 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 7. His record improves to 2-3. Chenor Njie, credited with the save, is now 13 for 14 in save opportunities.
Faulkner had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run triple. The Disaster went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Faulkner after the game.
Port Royal is now 42-30, while Jersey City is 39-33.
