Fans who came to Ballpark of Alloway watched the Alloway Halberds and the Port Royal Disaster fight to the finish.

The Alloway Halberds got a stellar effort from pitcher Ken French, helping Alloway score a 3-2 win over the visiting Port Royal Disaster. French got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. French allowed 2 earned runs.

Alloway grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Manny Gonzáles delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Halberds.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," French told the Alloway Gazette.

Even with the win, the Halberds have a dismal 18-48 record.
