Victory Pushes Tritons Record to 37-29
|
Jersey City Tritons starter Iwane Chihara turned in an exceptional performance against the Pennsauken Flyers at Jersey City Grounds, resulting in a Jersey City win, 3-1. Tom King, credited with the save, is now 12 for 13 in save opportunities. Jersey City bumps their record to 37-29 with the win.
The Tritons got a big at-bat from first baseman Pancho González. For the game, González was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Jersey City a 2-1 lead.
In postgame comments to the Jersey City Citizen, Chihara said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
