Evergreens Come Back Late to Top Patriots
|
The Portland Evergreens topped the Boston Patriots by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Tae-cho Han. Han went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Evergreens on the day. Marcos Germán got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 8 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Earning his 11th save for Portland was Raúl Romero.
Han had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch sinker from Bradley Roth, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Evergreens a 4-3 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Han.
Han called the triumph "a good team win."
The first-place Evergreens have a one-game lead in their division.
