Tritons Come Back Late to Clip Reserves
|
The Jersey City Tritons bested the Athletic Club KC Reserves by a score of 4-3, with center fielder Bart Walton getting the main credit. On the day, Walton went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs for the Tritons. Picking up the save was Jack Salt, his 4th. Jersey City has now won 4 straight.
Walton had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 forkball from Leroy Moody, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Tritons a 4-3 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Walton.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Jersey City manager Juan López.
