The Augusta Timber Hawks did just enough to sneak past the Jersey City Tritons, 3-2, at Jersey City Grounds. Augusta shortstop Krystof Melichar earned player of the game honors. Giel Overwater got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 5. Augusta, at 23-21, occupies 6th place in the Silver AAA.
Jesús Recesvinto, who is tied for 9th in the SAAA in doubles with 11, contributed to the Augusta win with a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
