The Port Royal Disaster turned back the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-4, at Monster Field. Júlio Morín Jr. was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Port Royal reliever Patrick Buzard was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. Santiago Pérez took the loss for Vermont. Port Royal is now 23-19.
Morín Jr. had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 slider from Santiago Pérez, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Disaster a 5-4 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Morín Jr..
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Port Royal manager Theo Graves.
