Multi-HR Day for Ueda as Reserves Overpower Flyers, 2-1
|
The Athletic Club KC Reserves eked out a 2-1 win versus the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park. Nobody did more than first baseman Shojiro Ueda, who captured player of the game honors. Salvador Sagastizabal got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and no runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Athletic Club KC is now 18-21.
Ueda had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Reserves went on to win.
"We were in it," said Pennsauken manager Reggie Adams. "We just didn't score enough runs."
