Lake Monsters Score Late, Top Fighting Dachsunds, 3-2

The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds got a superb performance from pitcher Gerald Bolton. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Vermont. The Lake Monsters won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Bolton was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Vermont reliever Jefferson Suhendro picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Shawn Stevenson took the loss. Vermont leads the Silver AAA by 2½ games.
Marcel Roks was the walk-off hero for Vermont. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lake Monsters right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"We put together a nice win," Roks said.
