Flyers Nip Rocks, 3-2
|
Pennsauken Flyers starter Bernie Sanders turned in a sterling performance against the Plymouth Rocks, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Arnie Banks picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. José Flores was tagged with the loss. The win puts the Flyers at 11-20, while the Rocks drop to 21-10.
Alfredo García had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Flyers. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Pennsauken trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run double.
In postgame comments to the Pennsauken Herald, García said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
