Chicago beat New Orleans on the strength of starter Zhao-ji Qiu's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Qiu, now 5-3. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Austin Aries picked up the save, his 4th.
