Reserves Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Athletic Club KC Reserves went home winners at Timber Hawks Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Rafael Narváez. Narváez silenced the Augusta Timber Hawks, enabling Athletic Club KC to grab the 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Narváez, now 1-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Athletic Club KC.
The Reserves got a big at-bat from first baseman Shojiro Ueda. For the game, Ueda was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Athletic Club KC a 2-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Ueda, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
