Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Port Royal Disaster got the win.
António Quintero left his imprint on the 4-2 Port Royal win against the Alloway Halberds. Quintero was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Patrick Buzard got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Chenor Njie earned the save for Port Royal, his 1st of the year.
Anson Darrah, who is tied for 10th in the SAAA in RBI with 18, helped out the Port Royal cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 4 with a hit by pitch.
"I like our moxie," said Disaster manager Theo Graves.
Port Royal has an impressive 17-6 record.
