The Vermont Lake Monsters got a stellar performance from pitcher Ramón Martínez, who handcuffed the Port Royal offense en route to a 3-1 win at Ballpark of Port Royal. René Fontaine earned the save for Vermont, his 5th of the year. Losses have been few and far between for the Disaster, who are now 12-5.

It could have been a different outcome for Vermont, had it not been for Ramón Padilla, the 21-year old shortstop . Padilla contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Vermont up, 2-1.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Padilla.
