Late Rally by Tritons Secures Win
|
It was a fun time at Jersey City Grounds, where the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds and Jersey City Tritons tangled.
The Jersey City Tritons grabbed a 5-2 win over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds at Jersey City Grounds. Jersey City first baseman Shelby Noonan went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once to earn player of the game honors. The win was credited to Juan Valdéz in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Paul Addison took the loss. Kent Randall was credited with the save for Jersey City, his 5th of the season.
Noonan had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 fastball from Paul Addison, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Tritons a 5-2 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Noonan.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Noonan. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Fighting Dachsunds, at 4-13, have stumbled out of the gate.
