Tritons Sneak Past Lake Monsters, 3-2
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Jersey City Tritons eventually prevailed at Monster Field.
Jersey City rode a good effort from starter Iwane Chihara to beat the Vermont Lake Monsters at Monster Field. The final score was 3-2. Kent Randall finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Gil Andersen, who is rated as the 67th best prospect by BNN, contributed to the Jersey City win with a solo home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Chihara said.
Losses have been rare for the Lake Monsters, who are now 11-3.
