Tritons Win at Vermont, 6-2

A nice crowd turned out to see the Jersey City Tritons and Vermont Lake Monsters clash at Monster Field.
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Brian Moring, the Jersey City Tritons defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-2. Moring was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk for the Tritons. Currito Fonseca got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 1 and walking 4.
Jersey City center fielder Gil Andersen delivered a solo home run in the top of the fifth. Overall, he went 3 for 5, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 1.
Andersen told a Jersey City Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Losses have been few and far between for the Lake Monsters, who are now 11-2.
