The Vermont Lake Monsters and Augusta Timber Hawks played an exciting game at Timber Hawks Ballpark.
The Vermont Lake Monsters did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Augusta Timber Hawks at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Rodas Aguilar, who captured player of the game honors. Aguilar, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Earning his 1st save for Vermont was René Fontaine.
Tullu Amaad hit a run-scoring double off Sixto Soto in the top of the fifth, which put the Lake Monsters in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Amaad had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
Aguilar attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Vermont goes to 4-1 with the win.
