Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Timber Hawks
The Augusta Timber Hawks did just enough to sneak past the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-4, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Augusta shortstop Krystof Melichar earned player of the game honors. Augusta reliever Gus Osborne got the win, raising his record to 1-0. René Fontaine was tagged with the loss. Augusta goes to 4-0 with the win.

Melichar had a game-changing double in the bottom of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from René Fontaine, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Timber Hawks a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Melichar.

"It was terrific getting this win," Melichar said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
