Rawhides Throttle Farmers, 6-1
|
Belvedere Park pitcher Timoteo Sassetti did his part in helping his team beat the Lancaster Farmers, 6-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Sassetti, now 8-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. José Núñez, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Woodrow McGuire was one of the major contributors to the win for Belvedere Park. The light-hitting second baseman stroked a double to left in the top of the second inning. For the day, he went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Sassetti said.
