Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Continentals
In a close game at Chesapeake Grounds, the Chesapeake Continentals edged the Marquette Miners, 4-3. Chesapeake second baseman Tomás Valdéz earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2 for 2 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Francisco Torres picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-3. Paul Zucarelli was tagged with the loss. Chesapeake has now won 3 straight, while the Miners have lost 3 in a row.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Chesapeake third baseman Shou-chien Luo, facing Paul Zucarelli, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Continentals the 4-3 win.

"It feels good to get this one," Luo told the Chesapeake Chronicle.
