Multi-HR Day for Thigpen as Atoms Overpower Rawhides, 7-4
|
Bethesda designated hitter Brant Thigpen was a significant contributor in his team's 7-4 triumph over the Belvedere Park Rawhides. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Bethesda. Bethesda reliever Ben Olsen was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Alfredo Córdova took the loss for Belvedere Park. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Bethesda.
It could have been a different outcome for Bethesda, had it not been for Diego Romero, the 27-year old center fielder . Romero contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Bethesda up, 4-3.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Bethesda manager Raúl Méndez.
