Atoms Suffer 5-3 Loss to Farmers
|
Starting pitcher Ralph DePalma pitched well enough to help the Lancaster Farmers beat the Bethesda Atoms by the score of 5-3. DePalma, now 6-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs. Javier Mejía, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save.
Min-tae Yi was 1-3 for Lancaster. The slick-fielding shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kevin Beckman. It was his 30th RBI of the season.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Yi said.
Lancaster is now 38-43.
