Late Rally by Farmers Secures Win
|
Lancaster rode a fine outing from starter Ralph DePalma to victory over the Lannister United Lionhearts at Farmers Field. The final score was 2-1. Javier Mejía was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 12 save opportunities. The Farmers saw their win-loss record go to 32-38. At the same time, the Lionhearts fell to 36-34.
The Farmers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Kevin de Bruyne. For the game, de Bruyne was 2 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 15th double of the season gave Lancaster a 2-1 lead.
DePalma said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
