Athletic Club KC Academy Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Farmers
|
The Athletic Club KC Academy beat the Lancaster Farmers, 3-1, at KC Academy Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Gabriel Camparán, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Kamisese Alohinani in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Alexander Eatwell took the loss. Ozamataz Buckshank earned the save for Athletic Club KC Academy, his 5th of the year.
Camparán had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 cutter from Alexander Eatwell, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Athletic Club KC Academy a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Camparán.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Athletic Club KC Academy manager Brendan Andrews, "I like our chances."
The Farmers fall to 8-10 and continue their lackluster start to the 2035 season.
