Coral Reefers Get Road Win, 6-2
|
The exploits of right fielder Jordan Westacott, who is rated as the 93rd best prospect by BNN, helped the Key West Coral Reefers defeat the Houston BC, 6-2. Westacott went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. Key West reliever Allen Duer picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Francisco Guillén was saddled with the loss. Javier Contreras, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Juan Carlos Santos, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AAA with a .358 batting average, aided the Key West cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a double and 2 walks.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Westacott told the Key West Times.
Key West occupies 7th place in the Menard's AAA at 51-49.
