Victory Pushes Evergreens Record to 24-14
The Chicago Gold Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Zhao-ji Qiu, but the Portland Evergreens still won the game, 3-2. Qiu was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Portland starter Gerald Keller was credited with the win after throwing 91 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. The Evergreens have an impressive 24-14 record.

In the top of the 6th, shortstop Yu-shu Tseng gave Portland the lead when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Evergreens had been trailing 2-0, but the two-out double off Chicago pitcher Miguel Toro changed that -- and Portland went on to win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Tseng told reporters after the game.
