Tight Tilt Goes to Coral Reefers, 3-2
|
The Key West Coral Reefers did just enough to sneak past the Hamilton Coyotes, 3-2, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Key West pitcher Jacob Broome earned player of the game honors. Broome went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-3. José Rosales closed it out for his 9th save.
Key West grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Juan Carlos Santos delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Coral Reefers.
"We had a good game plan," Broome said, "and we were able to execute it."
Key West occupies 7th place in the Menard's AAA at 47-45.
