Gryfindor pitcher Ollie McDaniell did his part in helping his team beat the Hamilton Coyotes, 3-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The save went to Brian Peeks, his 5th this season. Gryfindor currently is in 8th place in the Menard's AAA at 35-39.
Ernesto Souza's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth inning was a big one for Gryfindor. Coming to bat with two out, runners on 1st and 3rd and Gryfindor leading 2-1, the third baseman hit a run-scoring single.
Souza said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
