Braves Get One-Run Win at Phoenix
|
Fans who came to Thunderbirds Stadium watched the Gryfindor Braves and the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves fight to the finish.
The Gryfindor Braves went home winners at Thunderbirds Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Ollie McDaniell. McDaniell silenced the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, enabling Gryfindor to grab the 2-1 win. McDaniell got the win, improving to 8-2. He allowed 8 hits and walked 4 over 7.2 innings. McDaniell allowed 1 earned run. Brian Peeks finished to wrap up his 4th save.
In the top of the 7th, third baseman Tyler Knopp gave Gryfindor the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Braves had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out double off Phoenix pitcher José Santiago changed that -- and Gryfindor went on to win.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said McDaniell.
The Hotspur Reserves have now dropped 5 straight.
