BC Get One-Run Win at Vancouver

The Philadelphia 1776 BC racked up a win at Wolf Den in Vancouver, bumping off the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 5-4. Elroy Thompkins, who started for Philadelphia 1776, pitched effectively for his team. Thompkins got the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed 9 hits and walked 1 over 8.1 innings. Thompkins allowed 4 earned runs. Earning his 11th save for Philadelphia 1776 was Kenji Aoki.
The BC got a big at-bat from catcher Tim Burney. For the game, Burney was 1 for 4. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave Philadelphia 1776 a 4-3 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Burney.
Philadelphia 1776 is now 17-16.
