Miao Helps Humpbacks Run Win Streak to 9
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks relied on the hitting of left fielder Yu Miao to stop the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 6-3. For the game, Miao went 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Hervé Favier, the winner, improved to 5-1. He held the Hotspur Reserves to 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Brandon Franklin earned the save, his 4th.
Miao had a big at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the top of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Humpbacks went on to win.
In postgame comments to the Alaskan Today, Miao said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
