Coyotes Continue Skid Thanks to bin Idris, Drummers
|
The Tortolita Drummers knocked off the Hamilton Coyotes, 11-4, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Askari bin Idris, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Tortolita won. The left fielder was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. Tom Scots earned the win for Tortolita. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 3-4. Hamilton now has a 14-game losing streak.
Rick Mayfield helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Tortolita a 2-0 lead.
"We maximized our offense today," said Tortolita skipper Arturo Chávez. "That makes everyone's life easier."
