Patriots Turn Back Buckhead, 4-2
|
Boston rode a fine outing from starter Sam Mooney to victory over the Buckhead Bowties at 5 Paces Park. The final score was 4-2. Boston reliever Bradley Roth got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Octavius Pringle was tagged with the loss. The save went to Leo Ingelbrigtsen, his 3rd this season.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Zeus Preckwinkle was at the plate when Boston scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Patriots to go in front, 3-2.
"We take it day by day here," said Preckwinkle, "and today was a good one for us."
Boston is now 17-14, Buckhead 16-15.
