Briggs Helps Humpbacks Run Win Streak to 6
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks handed the Hialeah Dodos a loss at Sea World. The final score was 6-4. Wally Briggs was named player of the game for Alaskan. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 4. He also added 1 walk. Alaskan reliever Ricardo Peito got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Cisco Ortíz was tagged with the loss. Billy Grange finished the game for Alaskan and earned his 1st save.
Alaskan grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Briggs, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AAA with a .374 batting average, hit a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Humpbacks out in front, 5-2.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Briggs after the game.
Alaskan leads the Menard's AAA by 2 games.
