Hotspur Reserves Continue Skid Thanks to Samurakami, Fog
|
The Sunset District Fog extended their winning streak at Thunderbirds Stadium.
The Sunset District Fog topped the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 11-4, at Thunderbirds Stadium. Sunset District first baseman Ieyoshi Samurakami earned player of the game honors. He banged out 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. Mark Roddam got the win, improving to 4-1. He held the Hotspur Reserves to 2 earned runs on 2 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 6.
The Fog had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the eighth. The score was 8-2, Sunset District, with no one out. Phoenix, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Carlos Rodríguez dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 curveball, he struck out.
The first-place Fog have a one-game lead in their division.
