Kroening Slugs Grey Wolves to 4-3 Win
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves scored a 4-3 win versus the Boston Patriots at Wolf Den in Vancouver. Vancouver first baseman Johan Kroening nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Kenny Aarnoutse got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Yeon-kyu Kim nailed down his 9th save.
Early in the game, Kroening had a 2-run home run for Vancouver. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Grey Wolves on top, 2-1.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Kroening told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
Vancouver is now 19-8, 2 games up in the Premier League.
