Houston beat Sioux Falls at Houston Park, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter Robby Arnold, who earned player of the game honors. Wop Baars got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Losses have been few and far between for the Red Pandas, who are now 5-2.
Houston grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Tom Bancroft delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 6-5 in favor of the BC.
"I felt good up there," said Arnold. "I saw the ball well."
