Buzz Win, Casillas goes 3-for-3
|
The exploits of second baseman Orlando Casillas, who is rated as the 70th best prospect by BNN, helped the Salt Lake City Buzz defeat the Sacramento Redlegs, 9-1. Casillas was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Chico Landi picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 1-0. The Buzz, with just their 1st win in 5 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
The Buzz picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Salt Lake City manager Don Nelson.
