Lakers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Piranhas
|
Echo Park designated hitter Félix Romero made his presence felt in the 6-2 Lakers triumph over the Panama City Piranhas. Romero was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Corbin Holling, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Echo Park, now 13-19, holds 9th place in the Third League.
Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Manuel Guillama, hit a single. It helped Echo Park seize the win.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Panama City manager Andrew Bosco.
