Hotspur Come Back Late to Clip Oaks
|
Phoenix starter José Quiñones had a strong outing against the Oakland Oaks at Oakland Coliseum. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-1 win. Quiñones, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. The Hotspur have now won 5 straight.
Lopahin Davletyarov's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Júlio Rodríguez for a run-scoring single. It put Phoenix in front, 2-1.
"We played hard and won," said Quiñones. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
