Hotspur Top Lakers to Even Record
|
Will Hunting pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Echo Park Lakers, despite Hunting's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Phoenix Hotspur at LA Forum. Morris Prinkey earned the save for Phoenix, his 6th. Phoenix now owns a record of 14-14.
Phoenix relied on the hitting of Kyle Bywaters to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Hotspur on top, 1-0. For the game, Bywaters had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Bywaters told the Phoenix Daily.
