Victory Over Oaks Takes Greenville to 11-5
|
The Greenville 84s topped the Oakland Oaks, 4-3, in Menard's Third League action at 84s Field. The player of the game was Greenville pitcher Zadock Dinkelmann. Dinkelmann got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Dinkelmann allowed 3 earned runs. Ash Wooden earned the save for Greenville, his 1st of the year.
Doug Allerdale's at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning was a big one for Greenville. Coming to bat with one out, a runner on 2nd and Greenville leading 3-2, the catcher reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run.
"Losing is easy," said Dinkelmann. "Winning is hard."
